Service Architects for IT Solution Providers
“Service Architect” What does that even mean?
For top-end IT solution providers, services are strategic. They depend on high-value service offerings to give them competitive advantage in the crowded market. Yet, these same providers typically don’t have a service development model that yields repeatable and scalable offerings.
All-to-often providers depend on “playbooks” for services sales that provide feel good bromides (“you can sleep at night; we have your back”) without any real meat behind them. These playbooks don’t define the full set of service outcomes that achieve the business goals of the offering. Nor do they outline what delivery looks like. It’s “all sizzle, no steak”.
The result is that the sales team defines “value” for a service at the time of sale and hope it sticks. That approach is neither repeatable nor scalable. And the service team must live with the fallout.
Value must be designed into the service offering from the start.
For a service offering to scale, the value proposition, market positioning, service outcomes, and delivery methodology must all be part of a seamless vision for the offering. Marketing knows what to position, the sales team knows what to sell, and the service organization knows how to deliver it.
This unified view of a service offering doesn’t happen by accident. It takes a deliberate design effort.
That’s where AntFarm comes in. We have a time-tested, methodical approach for designing high-value service offerings and the underlying delivery processes. We are Service Architects.
Since our founding in 2005, we have worked with hundreds of IT solution providers large and small to craft service offerings and delivery processes that add value for both the client and the solution provider.
